Congratulations!

I just want to say Congratulations and a job well done Terry Lynn!

The competition was stiff, 6 speakers who all did excellent jobs but like the stars in the sky there is always one that shines a little bit brighter and it proved to be our very own club member Terry Lynn.
As I was listening to the speeches I kept hearing a commond thread.... all the speakers encouraged us to reach out, make a difference and live life!
Which shows the quality of people that come to Toastmasters.
I won't be going to the next level of competition in Vernon but I know everyone joins me in sending you positive energy and a great big hug Terry Lynn..... while you shine even brighter in Vernon!
Congratulations!

Move over Martha Stewart

Yes you read the Title right!

The theme "Home Decorating" and decorate we did!
A smaller turn out than expected tonight but we did the night up right........

We laughed, we laughed some more and we cried, Let me explain :)

The night started with our very well decorated Karen getting the meeting off to a great start.

Then our chair Alison doing double duty got the juices started with trivia...... now why does Alison know so much about Bob Villas????? lol

We also had a Toastmaster from over a year ago return and say Hi. Do you want to know who it was??????????????? sorry not telling...... if your reading this and you don't know....you guessed it......You missed the mystery guest!

Ok the laughing and crying part............. Our first speech tonight was from Alison and this is the part where we laughed :) she carefully crafted together one of her best speeches on travelling from the hustle and bustle of North America to a Third world country complete with all the fun memories that go along with travel. I would like to say "she painted a nice picture"
Then the next speech/song was moi, yes people I had more fun looking at your faces when you couldn't stop my awful singing!!!! lol it was soooooooo much fun, I never get a captive audience to sing to.....So thank you for letting me torture you all for 7 minutes and 40 seconds I promise not to "Sing like no one is listening " again for quite awhile...... oh and that whole story was made up....... ok, non of it was true!

We wallpapered the room with the Table topics Terry lynn provided.... and by the sounds of our tabletopics those home improvment guys have nothing to worry about, none of us will be taking their jobs any time soon!

A great night all in all! and a reminder that Terry lynn is in the Speech Contest tomorrow/today so that's Friday April the 13th at the Grove Church 208th & 93rd come on out and give her your support!

Good night or good morning!

Trying something different

Alright my little Toasties!

Hats off to Midnight Madness

It's Easter weekend and you are invited to try the Midnight madness club in Langley that meets the first Friday of the Month at Andrea's Restaurant ........ Do you go????? OF COURSE YOU DO!!!!

This group is a little different to say the least :) in a good way! a lot of laughing and not quite so much structure as a regular meeting.......

I think its a great way for a seasoned Toastmaster to let their hair down and have some fun.

Tonight we were in for a treat..... The speech was on Job Interviews but the funny side of them........ Little did the speaker know that a Employment Cousellor was listening and enjoying every minute of it!!!!! Yes people that's what I do for a living, hey it pays the bills! lol I thought the Speaker did very well in showing how regular life throws you the funniest material for a speech!

Then on to the Table Topics and just know that at this group everyone does them (except me cause unfortunately I had to head to my next stop)....... which could have been a good thing cause my stomach was hurting from laughing so hard and I'm not sure if I would have been able to pull off the humour like this bunch does................ this is a busy group who have lots of fun! so don't be shy go out say hi and laugh alot!

It was Eggstra ordinary! Happy Easter Everyone!

Nighty night........
